Anna & Stelios Kruse

What happened to Anna and her son Stelios?
It is with a broken heart that we have to inform you that our beloved team rider Anna and her 10-month-old son Stelios have become victims of an unimaginable crime. Anna's partner, a 56-year-old farmer from the Greek village of Lekani, shot them both with a hunting rifle during a walk in the mountains and then committed suicide.
Anna was a courageous and freedom-loving young woman who had moved from Germany to her mother's remote village about six years ago. There she had met the farmer with whom she was in a relationship. However, the monotonous country life became increasingly stressful for Anna and conflicts arose between the partners, particularly over custody of Stelios. The day before the tragedy, Anna had won the custody case and was planning to leave for Germany with her son.
We knew Anna as a passionate skater who impressed everyone who saw her on the board with her talent and fearless nature. She was a valued member of our team and an inspiration to us all. Her unconditional love was not only for skateboarding, but also for animals, art and her friends.
Anna's violent death has left us all deeply shocked and speechless. Anna, you will always have a special place in our hearts. Rest in peace. We at Morphium Skateboards will cherish Anna's memory and work to ensure that her legacy lives on.Anna, I haven't seen you since our last team meeting. But maybe you'll be back on the board... together with Stelios and you'll mosh down a few gaps and steps or drop a 10 meter high quarter. Wherever you may be now.
I am glad to have met someone like you in my life, to have gotten to know you and to have had a great time together. I was - and still am - proud to have had you in the team. You were a role model as a person and as a team rider that I will never forget.
Thank you for the good time, your smile, the positive charisma, your energy, the authenticity, your loyalty, the ambition, the stamina, the calm and the wild beast in you, which slowly emerged after 2-3 beers. When you realize that unique moments and characteristics of a person are irretrievable, you realize how much you miss them. But I also realize what a great value they had for me. The only comfort we have are the memories of you and the moments we shared. Karl
